Program Description: This program is a starting point to begin a career in the medical field. Learn the language of doctors, nurses, and health care professionals. Curriculum will include medical terminology, administrative focus, and basic clinical skills. There will be an opportunity for clinical experience. Successful completion of both health and biology are recommended prior to attending this program. Students may have the opportunity to receive their provisional (CEHRS) Electronic Health Record Specialist certification. 

High School Equivalency Credits: Students earn 3.0 credits per year allocated as 1.0 English, 1.0 Lab Science, 1.0 Career and Technical Education/Elective. Program of Study

College Credits: Credits available through Bates Technical College: up to 12 credits, Clover Park Technical College: up to 14 credits, Pierce College: up to 24 credits, or South Puget Sound Community College: up to 10 credits

Students who successfully complete the program and meet the college grading requirements, will be eligible to apply.

Certifications: Provisional (CEHRS) Electronic Health Record Specialist, second-year students have the opportunity to get their Certified Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA)
