Michael Morfoot
Michael, known as Mr. Mike by his students, hails from California and followed in his father’s footsteps, embarking on a career in law enforcement. He began as a Military Police officer with the U.S. Army in 1995. Stationed at Ft. Lewis (JBLM), he was deployed to the Republic of Panama to support the anniversary of Operation Just Cause. During his time at Ft. Lewis, he met and married his wife, a local from the area. The couple was later stationed at Ft. Shafter in Hawaii, where they joyfully welcomed their twin daughters.
After completing his military service in 2002, Mr. Mike returned to Washington state and joined the Kent Police Department. A year after starting his new career at the police department, he and his wife had a son, their final child. Over the course of his 21-year career at the police department, he embraced various roles, including Field Training Officer, Emergency Vehicle Operator Course Instructor, and a stint as a Detective.
Now, with nearly three decades of law enforcement experience, Mr. Mike has embarked on a new chapter as the Criminal Justice Instructor at New Market Skill Center. He is enthusiastic about this transition and is eager to impart his extensive knowledge and experience to his students, preparing them for their future careers in the field of criminal justice.
