Jessica Teehee
jessica.teehee@tumwater.k12.wa.us
My name is Jessica Teehee, I have been in the industry for 10 years as of April of 2025. I started cosmetology because I originally wanted to do theater hair and makeup. But I fell in love with color and the rest was history. I started the education team at the salon I was currently employed with teaching fellow stylists advanced techniques helping fine tune some basics, while still building a clientele and working on hair behind the chair. Fall of 2022, I became a full-time educator in cosmetology! What I love most about being an instructor is that I get to help students learn not only hard skills but some soft skills that make them career ready when they leave school. Skills that I had to learn later in my career.
I believe I would have been far more successful and prepared for my career had I learned the soft skills that I was lacking. My biggest piece of advice for a student considering the cosmetology program is, come with a willingness to be shaped and grow. You will go so far in school and your career if you have a growth mind set. Can't wait to meet and work with you!
Jackie Smith
jacquline.smith@tumwater.k12.wa.us
My name is Jacquline Smith. I am the manager of Centralia Beauty College. I am also a licensed cosmetology instructor, and I have been in the cosmetology industry for 7 years. Previously I had been in the Air Force for 9 years. I got into the beauty industry because of the small but powerful ways that we can touch people's lives. Teaching is a place that I can share my passion and love for all the things that have inspired me. I have the opportunity to share with people the love and passion for this industry. The benefit of working with people and being creative is something that feeds my soul. Being an instructor is rewarding in so many ways. Students growing into amazing beauty professionals who will shape and change this industry, and their communities beats all the rewards. My one piece of advice would be always leave everything you touch better than you found it!
Lyndsi Erdman
lyndsi.erdman@tumwater.k12.wa.us
My name is Lyndsi Erdman. I have been a Cosmetologist since 2018, a Nail Technician since 2019 and an instructor since 2022.
I grew up watching my mom do hair for our family and saw her love for the industry. I have also been an artist, and fell in love with the idea of being a hair artist at a young age. When it came time for me to choose my career, it was an easy choice!
I love to share my knowledge and to watch people foster their passion and take their creativity to the next level! Partnering alongside a budding artist and watching them grow into themselves has been hugely rewarding and I will forever be grateful to be a part of my student's journeys, building not only their skills and confidence but also investing in their futures in the industry.
If I was to give advice to a student, I would tell them to believe in themselves and never compromise on their passion! When passion meets faith and dedication, the sky is the limit!
