Program Description: The Construction Trades program is a pre-apprenticeship program teaching entry-level construction skills and knowledge. This course covers both residential and commercial construction with an emphasis on job site safety. Additionally, students focus on employability skills, problem-solving, trainability, as well as team building. The course goal is to prepare students for direct entry into an apprenticeship by meeting rigorous academic and industry standards. Students learn real world experiences through field trips, guest speakers, and hands-on activities/projects.   

High School Equivalency Credits: Students earn 3.0 credits per year allocated as 1.0 Math, 1.0 English, 1.0 Lab Science. See how these credits satisfy graduation requirements in the Program of Study.

Apprenticeships: Students who successfully complete the program and have earned a grade of B or better may qualify for direct entry into a trade apprenticeship program.

College Credits: Credits available through Clover Park Technical College: up to 18 credits

Students who successfully complete the program and meet the college grading requirements, will be eligible to apply.

Career Pathways: Architectural and Civil Drafters, Crane Operators, Plumbers/Pipefitters/Steamfitters, Cabinetmakers and Bench Carpenters, Carpenters, Cement Masons and Concrete Finishers, Construction Management, Construction and Building Inspectors
